Vote NO on 60, 61 & 101
Updated On: Sep 17, 2010 (16:16:00)

The Brighton Professional Firefighters strongly oppose and are urging you to VOTE NO ON 60, 61 & 101 in November!

These three extremist measures are touted as tax reform.  But the truth is that they will cripple the Colorado State budget, school districts, fire districts, police departments, library districts, higher education, roads, and many other important services and parts of our state infrastructure.

If these three issues (nicknamed the "three blind mice" or "the bad three") pass in November, it is estimated that the Greater Brighton Fire Protection District will need to lay off 20 out of 48 career firefighters and close two out of five fire stations.  It is likely that the homeowners formerly covered by these stations will see significantly higher homeowner's insurance rates.  It is also scary to think of the impact of the long response times and decreased staffing levels will have on emergency calls.  Seconds count when your house is on fire or your loved one needs emergency medical care!

Don't take our word for it.  Click here to Google "60 61 101 Colorado" to see what other people are saying about these three extremist measures.

The Greater Brighton Fire Protection District protects 165 square miles from 5 fire stations including the City of Brighton, Wattenburg, and Henderson, and unincorporated areas of Adams and Weld County. Click here for the website of the Greater Brighton Fire Protection District.
